On February 24, 2026, during a meeting with young people, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, outlined a number of important tasks aimed at supporting their initiatives, directly addressing their concerns and proposals, and creating additional opportunities.

In order to implement these tasks, an open dialogue was organized today between the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Uzkimyosanoat” and students of Uzkimyosanoat and New Uzbekistan University.

Development of the Chemical Industry — A Driver of Economic Growth: Dialogue with Industry Entrepreneurs Held

A roundtable meeting with entrepreneurs who produce and export chemical products in the republic was held in the capital under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev. Leaders of relevant ministries and agencies, as well as representatives of JSC “Uzkimyosanoat,” also took part in the event. An open and practical dialogue on pressing issues in the sector was organized during the meeting.

The participants discussed existing challenges in the chemical industry, issues that entrepreneurs face in the production process, and proposals for addressing them. The open format of the event allowed entrepreneurs to freely express their opinions and initiatives.

This year, it is planned to increase the export volume of chemical products to 720 million US dollars. Accordingly, the sector faces significant tasks. At the same time, there is a goal to significantly increase the production of mineral fertilizers needed for agriculture. In particular, work has begun to increase the production of nitrogen fertilizers to 1.12 million tons, phosphorus fertilizers to 135 thousand tons, and potassium fertilizers to 222 thousand tons.

During the event, special attention was paid to accelerating the implementation of major investment projects in the chemical industry, commissioning new production capacities within the established deadlines, and promptly resolving existing issues.

Producers and entrepreneurs also presented a number of proposals aimed at increasing production volumes in the sector, launching new capacities, and expanding export potential.

It was emphasized that the proposals and initiatives put forward by entrepreneurs during the dialogue will play an important role in further developing the sector, effectively implementing investment projects, and creating new production capacities.

As the nationwide holiday of Navruz approaches, landscaping and greening activities are gaining momentum across the country.

Continuing these good traditions, a nationwide hashar was also organized at JSC “Uzkimyosanoat” under the slogan: “The prosperity of the homeland begins with the mahalla.”

The management and employees of the company actively participated in the event, contributing to the improvement of the areas surrounding their workplaces. During the hashar, the territories of the administrative buildings were put in order, the surrounding environment was cleaned, and trees and ornamental plants were properly maintained.

An open meeting between the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Uzkimyosanoat” and students was held at the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology.

The meeting was dedicated to supporting the knowledge and initiatives of young people, as well as exchanging views on promising areas of the industry and future opportunities.

During the dialogue, students received detailed information about the ongoing reforms in the chemical industry, new investment projects, the introduction of modern technologies in production processes, and the conditions being created for young specialists.

Measures to accelerate major chemical industry investment projects reviewed

On March 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the progress of major investment projects and the launch of new production facilities in the chemical industry.

At the meeting, progress in the industry was critically reviewed, and it was noted that the sector needs a new system of strategic planning and development based on the “goal – action – result” principle. Instructions were issued to establish clear indicators for increasing chemical production, commissioning new facilities, and expanding export potential.

In particular, the task was set to increase the industry’s exports to $720 million this year. The need to raise production of nitrogen fertilizers to 1.12 million tons, phosphate fertilizers to 135,000 tons, and potash fertilizers to 222,000 tons was emphasized to ensure planned agricultural output.

As noted, this year the industry and regions plan to attract $2.5 billion in investment as part of the implementation of 133 projects worth $9.5 billion. In particular, 24 strategic projects at chemical industry enterprises and in the regions envisage the utilization of $1.3 billion in investment and the launch of seven new production facilities.

The progress of projects to expand production at the Kungrad Soda Plant, launch mineral fertilizer production at the Samarkandkimyo enterprise, and increase the capacity of the Dehkanabad Potash Plant was critically reviewed. Unacceptable delays were noted. Responsible officials were instructed to work with investors to ensure the accelerated completion of these projects.

Attention was also given to the processing of industrial phosphogypsum waste accumulated during the operations of the Ammofos-Maxam enterprise. The need to effectively utilize this waste to produce additional products, including sulfuric acid, was emphasized.

Issues related to the development of modern scientific and technological infrastructure for the strategic advancement of the chemical industry were also considered.

In particular, plans were presented to establish a chemical-technological innovation center jointly with leading South Korean companies. The center will specialize in research in areas such as gas and coal chemistry, advanced chemical analysis, sorbents, catalysts, and nano- and composite materials, and is expected to become the only research institute of its kind in Central Asia.

The presentation also provided information on the progress of projects to launch the production of solvents, dry cyanides, caustic soda, silicone, and mineral fertilizers, to modernize facilities for producing ammonia, urea, and ammonium nitrate at the Ferghanaazot enterprise, to launch ammonium nitrate production at Navoiyazot, to manufacture household chemicals in the Tashkent region and to produce a new type of tire at the First Rubber Plant.

In addition, plans to improve the efficiency of project management at Uzkimyosanoat JSC were reviewed.

Specifically, an ERP system has been introduced at the company and its constituent enterprises. It has been integrated with the databases of 21 ministries, agencies, and procurement operators, while 16 information systems have been consolidated into a single digital platform. Plans also envisage the gradual introduction of artificial intelligence technologies for analyzing and forecasting financial condition, as well as predicting demand for mineral fertilizers. In addition, it is planned to cover all stages of the movement of mineral fertilizers, from the enterprise to the farmers, with digital supervision.

The task was set, jointly with the Chamber of Accounts, to reduce production costs in the chemical industry by 10–15 percent through lower energy and raw material costs, as well as digitalization measures.

In conclusion, the Head of State instructed responsible officials to accelerate the implementation of major investment projects in the chemical industry, promptly address existing issues, and commission new production capacities within the established deadlines.

Youth Policy in Action: Meeting Between Leaders and Students at the RCTU Branch

JSC “Uzkimyosanoat” Improved Its Position in the International ESG Rating

In accordance with the requirements of the Presidential Decree No. PF-37 dated February 21, 2024, and within the framework of strengthening transparency and corporate governance standards at major state-owned enterprises, JSC “Uzkimyosanoat” carried out activities aimed at obtaining an international ESG rating.

The Company established cooperation with the international rating agency S&P Global and, on February 17, 2025, obtained its ESG rating for the first time. According to the assessment results, the Company scored 29 points and was recognized as the first company in Uzbekistan to receive an ESG rating from this agency.

As a result of systematic measures implemented in the areas of sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and effective corporate governance, the Company’s ESG score increased to 36 points this year.

The assessment primarily focused on the following areas:

Investing in Knowledge: Uzbek Chemists to Train in Korea

Today, a pre-departure briefing was held for 20 chemical specialists traveling to the Republic of Korea, organized jointly by JSC “O‘zkimyosanoat” and the Uzbekistan Office of KOICA.

The participants will attend a three-month training program focused on advanced chemical research equipment. The program is conducted at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT), located in Daejeon, Republic of Korea, and includes theoretical sessions as well as hands-on apprenticeship-based training.

The event was attended by Mr. Park Seongmin, Deputy Director of the KOICA Uzbekistan Office, Mr. Akmal Makhmudov, Project Director of “KRICT DIREKSIYASI” LLC, employees of JSC “O‘zkimyosanoat,” and program participants.

This training initiative aims to support the establishment of the Uzbekistan Center for Chemical Technologies and strengthen its institutional capacity, as well as to enhance the qualifications of highly skilled professionals for the country’s chemical industry. Participants were informed about the program’s objectives, structure, and provided with recommendations on professional conduct and effective learning abroad.

During the 90-day program, participants will acquire comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in chemical instrumental analysis, including operation of advanced scientific equipment, data analysis and interpretation, ensuring reliability of results, and their application in industrial practice.

Second Stage of the Census Reviewed in Yozyovon District

In order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 19, 2025, “On Conducting the Population and Agricultural Census in the Republic of Uzbekistan,” the second stage of the census campaign is being carried out from February 4 to 28.

Towards a “Green” Future: Biodegradable Film Developed by Uzbek Scientists

Today, plastic waste pollutes soil and water bodies for many years, turning into a global environmental challenge.

As a solution to environmental issues, scientists from the Laboratory of High-Molecular-Weight Plant Substances Chemistry at the Institute of Plant Substances Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan have developed a new optimal formulation for producing environmentally friendly, fully biodegradable films based on water-soluble polysaccharides derived from local plant materials.

These films are similar to synthetic polyethylene films in appearance and mechanical properties, yet they are completely safe for nature. They easily decompose in soil and aquatic environments without causing harm to the ecosystem.

Most importantly, these biopolymer films are highly promising for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries and can play a significant role in reducing plastic waste.

This development represents an important scientific and practical solution aimed at mitigating environmental problems associated with plastic waste.

The use of locally sourced plant raw materials, along with proven safety for both the environment and human health, further enhances the relevance of this innovation.

Second Stage of the Population and Agricultural Census Continues in Kashkadarya Region

Systematic Environmental Protection Efforts Underway at JSC “Uzkimyosanoat”

JSC “Uzkimyosanoat” is implementing a wide range of comprehensive measures aimed at protecting the environment and reducing pollutant emissions into the atmosphere. Sanitary posts and stationary monitoring stations have been installed at enterprises to ensure continuous monitoring of ambient air quality, and intensive efforts are underway to improve the efficiency of dust and gas cleaning equipment.

In particular, three automatic gas analyzers enabling online analysis of atmospheric emissions have been installed in Workshops No. 3, 23, and 25 of JSC “Navoiyazot.” In addition, a number of modern scrubber units have been commissioned at granulation towers to capture and reduce emissions.
A total of 28 stationary monitoring stations have been installed in the city of Navoi and Karmana District to monitor ambient air quality. These stations have been integrated with the regional prosecutor’s office, the internal affairs department, and the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
At the same time, an online data exchange system has been established between JSC “Navoiyazot” and the Situational Center of the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Ecology and Climate Change.
At JSC “Dehqanabad Potash Plant,” sanitary posts and stationary monitoring stations have also been installed to ensure continuous monitoring of atmospheric air in the sanitary protection zone, the “Beshbuloq” mahalla, and adjacent areas. Work is currently ongoing to integrate these facilities into the national geoinformation system.
To enhance professional capacity, the Swiss company VEMA S.A. organized online training courses on monitoring and calculating greenhouse gas emissions for environmental specialists of JSC “Uzkimyosanoat” and its subsidiary enterprises.Upon completion of the training, participants were awarded certificates.

These initiatives clearly demonstrate the consistent efforts of JSC “Uzkimyosanoat” to support decarbonization, environmental sustainability, and national climate objectives.
